We got this cage after breeding my daughter's rabbit. We were told to get a cage with a little extra room, and a solid floor for the babies. The recommendation was because the babies could get their feet stuck in a mesh floor. The cage itself is more than roomy enough for the mother and litter, and even comes with a little platform, with a little 'hideout' underneath it. We put it on a stand with a tiny bit of slope, and drilled a few small holes for urine to drain into a pan, so it wouldn't pool up because of the solid bottom tray. The sides of the tray go up high enough the babies won't be able to reach the mesh of the sides until they are big enough to not worry about getting stuck in it. If you do drill the bottom like we did (I highly recommend it, it saves us a LOT of cleaning) I'd suggest you put the rabbit inside for a day or two, to figure out its bathroom area, and then drill the holes in the nearest corner, and slope it ever so slightly towards that corner. It comes complete with a water bottle, as well as food bowl, and has openings both on top and in front. The reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because the water bottle is a little small, and the food bowl does not latch down. This wouldn't be a problem normally, but the food bowl has a designated spot molded into the little platform where it fits, and the rabbit keeps tipping it over. Any kind of simple latch or clip to lock it down would be a great help. Lightweight, roomy enough for the rabbit and her whole litter, and more than sturdy enough for rabbits.Read full review
