Needed a map small enough to use in the car but not overly big where you can't fold it easy while in the car. And this map fit that bill perfectly. It's clear and fairly easy to read. I have the bigger Rand McNally map that is much more detailed but was a little cumbersome to use while in the driver seat. So this was the perfect size for a quick peek. The spiral binding makes it so easy to flip back and fourth between pages especially if you also need to stay on a specific page. This mid size map with spiral binding is a perfect road companion.

The description says "large" and it in fact is about 8 by 11. I wanted something that would show the smaller towns and backroads for mortorcycle riding, so I sent it back and got the biggest one from the local bookstore. This one would be fine if you are driving cross country and want to see the major roads, highways, and cities. Look closely at the dimensions when you buy to make sure it fits your need. This one is good quality and printed well, but just not the size and detail that I expected based upon the description.

it is a typical Rand McNally product and was all I expected it to be, very good to read and looks like it will stand some abuse. If anything I am getting older and I would like to have seen it in the old style size.
