I really enjoy this game. It takes the basic gameplay presented in the previous installment of Age of Empires for DS, Age of Kings, and expands on the graphics and smoothness of presentation. It's fun to play through the different historical societies and see all the different mythological creatures and powers at your disposal. Highly recommended for fans of turn-based strategy games.

What an interesting game!! There are 3 game sections to play....Greek, Norse and Egyptian. I am currently still in the Egyptian section, so I cannot review the other areas. You are given some warriors / villagers to start with. In the game, you will build up your resources so that you can build your cities / training centers / monuments. Doing this will enable you to train more warriors and learn more about your gods as well as earn your gods' favor. The goal is to extend your empire while defeating any enemies that happen to cross your path and challenge your army. I LOVE the Egyptian music that plays during the game. And it is interesting to read about the different gods and "beasties" that you can recruit for your army. This game is very involved and very long. Each level has MULTIPLE sublevels....so you probably won't be finishing THIS game in a week! I didn't find the booklet in the game case to be helpful at all. Everything you need to know ABOUT the game is IN the game in the tutorials....which you review when you need to.Read full review
If you don't want to be addicted don't buy this game. It took a little bit to get into it (I anticipated a city building game like the one for pc, but it is more like a Civilization game), but once I was in I was hooked. One of the down sides is that it really is consuming. You can start the game and before you know it an hour has passed. The game is not so complicated that it became frustrating, but it was challenging enough to not be easily conquered. It is not really a game for children because it deals with battles and warring. It's not gory or explicit, but the whole point of the game is to attack and defend.
Lots of fun. Reminds me of Age of empires, of course. Also a little of the Advance Wars series. Tip: Age Up is very important in this game and not very expensive.
