Haven't taken the test yet, but I can already tell this book will definitely help boost my score when I do though. Gives good practice and insight into several aspects that one could expect to encounter on the test. Only got a 4 out of 5 though because it could be improved. The memorization techniques didn't do anything for me, and in the amount of time your allotted to memorize at the exam I could never see this working. Also, the mathematics word problems could have been explained a little better (how and why to set up certain formulas based on the word problems). I feel that this would be a great resource when coupled with another study guide to help round it out. Would definitely recommend!
I bought this book to help me with studying to get into an academy in Nevada. I did three of the practice tests and studied religiously for three months. All of this payed off when i scored a 90 on the written exam! Some of the questions on the written were taken directly from this book which i thought was pretty amazing. This book really put me at ease while i was taking the written and im very happy with this purchase. I would reccomend this book to anyone who is trying to get into the fire service because it is such a great resource.
