This device will find the rogue circuit breaker most of the time. My Square D box does have a few "twin breakers" (those where 2 fit in the space of one breaker). The bad news here is it gets confused. Most of the time however, with tuning practice and patience you can learn how to drill down to the correct circuit. I do like the quality and the operation--I'd recommend it. Start tracing by plugging into a known breaker first to get the feel of the device.

I purchased one of these before and after a while, the transmitter stopped working. None of the lights would ever come on. I opened the case by prying with a screwdriver, as there are no screws and the case is glued together. I found that the fuse had blown and I have no idea as to what size it is. I figured that a 1 amp fuse would work and so I soldered one in its place. That fixed the problem. I don't understand that this device is unrepairable and I could not even purchase a new one. I had to purchase both the transmitter and receiver. Otherwise, the devices worked well and I am able to find circuit breakers even in a packed panel. Because I cannot purchase the transmitter separately and I had to break open the case (as it's glued) to just replace a fuse, I give it 3 stars.

The brand new circuit breaker finder was not working I put in the 9v battery that came with the extech CB10 turned it on it made a beeping sound and just stop working the part that you put in the plug socket that works just fine. I think that they are not testing them before they send them out. NO STAR FOR THIS ITEM.
