About the Lo C Orchestra tuned harmonica: I was looking to buy a lo C harmonica when I found this one. I was thinking a standard Richter tuning, but then I found this one and I was intrigued. I play some pieces that are not your unusual harmonica fare like excerpts from Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Handle's Water Music. Because of the standard major scale tuning on this harmonica and the fact that C is the 3 blow hole, this harmonica lets me play these tunes without having to switch registers in order to continue playing the proper notes of the songs. Just those few extra notes on the top end of the scale make a lot of difference in what you can do with it. Also, I plan to add a chromatic in the future. This one is tuned like a chromatic without the button. It's a little different to play, but I like it. About Seydel harmonicas: I have a full set of Hohner Special 20's and a few Lee Oskars, but this is only my 2nd Seydel. My 1st Seydel is what I refer to as my "Trash C". Before I put my mouth to any other harmonica, I rinse with mouthwash to keep them clean. But the trash C stays in my pocket all the time and gets played on a regular basis without any preparation. (I've even stepped on it once.) It takes the abuse and keeps on going. While I don't recommend treating your harmonicas that way, it's still good to know it can take it. I am impressed with the quality of Seydel harmonicas and expect to be adding more of them to my collection.Read full review
