Replaced an old Yamaha that didn't have HDMI. The Onkyo TX-SR383 is an awesome AV Receiver tuner/amplifier. I have two RSL studio monitors, two powered SONY sub woofers, BOSE center speaker and two ceiling mounted 12" speakers. Amplifier has absolutely no issues driving all at MAX volume. A neighbor complained. (Sorry neighbor.) Bluetooth connection to Samsung phone for flawless car to home music transition. If it was networked, that would be icing on the cake. But that wasn't high on the list. FM reception is decent considering there's a power plant directly North interfering with most of the broadcasters.

I spent over 1K for an analogue receiver I bought 22 years ago and just replaced with this one. The corner behind by TV/Stereo system was a complete mess with all of the wires, interfaces and connectors I was using to hook everything up. The remote was the size of a shoebox, had 100 buttons, and constantly drained batteries. When I hooked up the Onkyo TX-SR383, I was able to fill the box it came in with cables and converters I no longer need. I was able to plug my TV, Amazon Fire Box and DVD player directly into the back of this receiver with HDMI cables. I can switch directly between these devices with it's remote. This doesn't have some of the features of my old receiver. I can't simulate a stadium or concert hall effect with it, but I don't really care about that. It's powerful enough to power my very large 3 foot tall Klipsch speakers. If the sound quality is any less than what I had before, the difference is negligible. It's simplicity and ease of use make up for it. It's nice to be able to clean behind my TV without going over 50 cables. I'm now down to 5. If you have a Sub and a surround system, you might want something with more wattage, but this is more than powerful enough for my needs. I feel that for the price, this was an absolute steal.Read full review

I enjoyed setting up my new Onkyo TX-SR388. The sound is excellent . It is a little challenging to get everything to work and you need to make sure that you do your spoeaker set up correctly. once set up it is a breeze

2 zone is not easy to use. Will not push a record player without a preamp. Does everything else in the world though.

Great sound and all the bells and whistles for a mid grade amp. The price is good for what you get. Happy Happy. Thanks A-Team
