I have used both the Frost King film and 3M film. The 3M film is stronger, clearer, and has fewer wrinkles after installing. 3M film does not tear easily when cutting and handling. The 3M tape does not pull paint or varnish off. Frost King film is about $10 for 5 windows, 3M is about $15 5 window kit. Frost King film tears easy, has to be handled carefully. The film will have more wrinkles, and when viewed side by side on adjacent windows, FK film is very slightly hazy. FK tape has more adhesive value, so if paint or varnish is loose, it may be pulled off when removing the tape in the spring. When using FK tape, I just lightly press it on--that is enough to make all stick. We have a lot of windows (32), so for windown not viewed out of often, I will use FK,and for those where we look out every day, I use 3M film.Read full review

Easy to use and very effective in helping me save on my heating bill. It's also a great deal - costs much more in the stores.

My house has large several large windows to bring in the dim light of an Alaskan winter. Every fall I take a couple of hours to install this shrink plastic on the inside of my double-paned windows. The difference is readily apparent as the cold from outside is kept outside. The plastic doesn't interfere with my enjoyment of the beautiful views of the surrounding woods. The best part is I can stand right next to the window in my pajamas and watch the Aurora Borealis dance across my property without feeling the deep cold outside. I hope to never go a single winter without my window protection.

Easy to install, but buy wider tape...gives it a better hold.

This came just in time for the colder weather. It definitely helps keep the window draft out.
