I love the Rand McNally atlas for my cross country drives. I like to take the back roads and just see what is there, stop as the whim hits, etc. These maps make it easy to plan ahead or just be spontaneous and never worry about getting lost, missing an adventure, or getting weird instructions from the internet. Only thing is the maps (1990's) had the states on two pages, not one, so the roads were clearer and the print larger. Now I need a magnifying glass to use it. I would love to see Rand McNally go back to the two page per state format.

This book is worth having especially for the individual who does a lot of road traveling. I own a GPS and use it faithfully but there are times where I need a short cut road and my GPS just doesn't give me that help, that's where my road Atlas comes in handling and handy it is all 50 states in one book and easy to read. Now, just remember reading a paper map in not like asking Google you have to know how to read a paper map. This book is easy to use and remember if you keep it in your car don't let it get wet.

Yes I still read paper maps. It is a lifelong hobby. I detest some machine telling me where to go. I buy a new one every year not because of changes but because the old one is ragged....
