We upgraded to this device from a 15 year old Garmin Nuvi, and it's definitely an improvement in terms of features. For instance, it gives you a choice of routes, and you can even easily edit a route to go exactly where you want. The features are user-friendly and easy to learn. The only drawback is one that all Garmin devices have, which is the maps not always being accurate. An example: we put in a restaurant destination (in a strip mall) and our new device didn't know the correct place to turn into the parking area; it wanted to take us up the street a bit and then make a U-turn. They do provide free map updates a couple of times a year, so sometimes these types of errors get fixed. Overall, very pleased with our new device. And it says a lot that our 15 year old device is still working (just didn't have all the features that the new one has).Read full review

the pros: it is easy to use, has clear pictures, very detailed maps. the cons: the touch screen for entering addresses is a bit off, thus it takes extra keystrokes to enter the data, and often goes back to the previous screen

It is easy to use and has a feature I have never had on a gps before. It shows the speed limit where I am driving with a small replica of a speed sign on the screen and it beeps when ever I enter an area with a different speed limit than the previous area

Very nice GPS, very reasonably priced as well. Works right out of the box without update, just charge fully and you are good to go. Only downside is this newer model did not seem to come with a traffic receiver cable, just a charging cable, so if you want the traffic function, (which this model has) you will need the proper cable on a separate purchase. Would by again for sure, has up ahead features and junction view feature as well.

I have had several GPS units. So far the Garmin Drive 52 is the best. No-name Off-brand units have been poor value for money: voice too soft, screen too dim, window mount too flimsy. Less costly Garmin models crowd the screen with FOURSQUARE "advertising": I want to see the street names, not a pin for every bank, gas station and restaurant along my route. The D-52 can even be used to find my car in a stadium parking situation.
