Super maneuverable, light, balanced and sharp. Easier to carry and use, than the longer version. Surprised at how much I like it.

Made in south Africa stamped on blade. Plastic handle very good. Painted to keep rust at bay. The grind on the blade is the worst I've seen. Looks like it was ground on a belt sander with coarse sand paper. I've been working on it for weeks still can't get all the bad grind spots out. I am glad I did not spend the $55.00 cold steel wants for this machete. It is still a good machete. Great idea katana like with good katana like handle and blade shape. I would buy again at $30.00. Just be ready to re sharpen blade if you like a better edge,

Product has a noticeable bend and warp in the blade. In the past I’ve found cold steel products to have great potential when properly hand sharpened. They hold an razor sharp edge and can handle extremely heavy use. I’m hoping this particular item slipped through quality control and it’s not an indication that cold steel is embracing sloppy manufacturing practices.

Not Worth a Darn! Cheaply made, funky edge geometry, May as well have a Lawn Mower blade with a handle on it. Please spend the money and buy something better don't waste you time with this junk!

It’s made from good materials but…. It comes with no edge to speak of and the handle is crazy uncomfortable! I spent a few hours sharpening it by hand and then had to wrap some cotton hockey tape around it to actually make it a functional tool. If you don’t mind putting the work in it’s great, but as it comes it’s not.
