Just from the design I would never use it to lock anything very valuable...but who would with an 11 dollar lock. Perfect for the gym or a lock box for non-essentials and not anything too valuable. A slam with a light hammer to this lock will definitely pop it open. Fairly easy to get the combination set. I like how it can be reset but it can also be a con if someone knew how to reset it which explains it right on the back of the package. Tl;dr use common sense
