About the Author

JORDAN REID is the founding editor of the lifestyle blog Ramshackle Glam and the author of two parenting and style memoirs. Her hobbies include unfortunately timed blushing, coming up with reasons to not shave her legs, and darts. She lives in California with her husband and two children, mostly so that she can wear flip-flops in the winter. 
 
 ERIN WILLIAMS is a writer, illustrator, and semiprofessional ugly-crafter living in New York with her husband and child. She moonlights (works full time) as an Oncology Data Specialist at Flatiron Health. If she had free time, she would use it to watch crime shows and guess who the perp was with stunning accuracy before the reveal.

    Jordan Reid grew up in New York City, studied cognitive neuroscience at Harvard University, and worked as an actress for over a decade before turning her focus to her true passions - fashion, beauty, entertaining, home décor, and DIY - by creating the lifestyle website RamshackleGlam.com. She is the author of Ramshackle Glam: The New Mom's Haphazard Guide To (Almost) Having It All, Carrying On: Style, Decor and More For The Nervous New Mom, both from Perseus Books, and The Big Fat Activity Book For Pregnant People, cowritten with Erin Williams and coming from Penguin Random House in Spring 2017.

    Reid has been called "a star of the post-expertise how-to landscape" by The New York Observer, and Ramshackle Glam (www.ramshackleglam.com) has been deemed a "survival guide for those who don't have a clue how to be domestic" by the Daily Beast. In a feature on Ramshackle Glam, Time Magazine wrote, "Of all the changes wrought by social media, few underscore the reach of the individual like the rise of Reid."

    Reid has conceptualized, styled and executed national campaigns for companies including Dove, TJ Maxx, DKNY, Simple Skincare, and Ecco Domani, and has appeared in a wide variety of publications and websites, including InStyle, New York Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and The Nest. She has spoken at fashion and beauty events around the country, hosted two seasons of the Meredith Video Studios-produced home decor show Jordan In The House, and hosted two series of a beauty-focused show for Allure Magazine.

    Erin Williams is a writer, illustrator, and medical researcher. She’s the author and illustrator of What's Wrong? Personal Histories of Chronic Pain and Bad Medicine, Commute: An Illustrated Memoir of Female Shame, and the coauthor and illustrator of The Big Activity Book series with Jordan Reid (Tarcher Perigee).

    Her work has also appeared in MoMA Magazine, VQR, Salon, Huffington Post, and Buzzfeed. Her scientific research has been published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood, Value in Health, and elsewhere.

    She lives in the suburbs with her husband, daughter, and a one-eyed cat named Peanut.

Very funny book but I received a used copy with writing in it. Another review said they got a used copy too. What the heck! Mine even came in a celophane envelope so I thought it was new. Very disappointed. Especially since I gave it as a gift and when she flipped through it she saw someone already wrote on some pages. How embarrassing for me.

The best book you could buy for a fun gift for someone who is pregnant. I bought this for my Aunt and Uncle (he also got a book of dad jokes) for them having their first child. I got it a few days after their announcement to the family for a fun gift, because I knew they would get the serious ones later, and pregnancy is hard, so if they can laugh once and forget what they're worried about just for a second, it did its job. My only warning is that it has some crude jokes in it, I had no problem with it, but know who you are giving it to; I knew they would appreciate it, so that wasn't an issue.

Especially since I’ve been in quarantine and stuff for months with covid going on in the world, and I’m home bored expecting my first, this book has kept me entertained. I got it for myself but this would make an awesome gift. I only wish I discovered it earlier!! Fun quizzes and puzzles and colouring pages. Lots of things to do and personal things to fill out to revisit later and remember about your pregnancy.
