Our felting tool has five barbed needles that catches the wool roving fibers and pushes them into the bottom of the fabric. The wool roving fibers stay permanently without using glue or sewing it. The tool comes with a clear lock cover for safety and storage.

I bought one of these at a yarn shop a decade ago. I still use it. Have never broken a needle. One of my students purchased another brand and all her needles broke. I purchased a set of the clover brand for her and hoped the quality would still be as good. It is. She has not broken a needle again. I recommend this brand to all my students who are working on flat needle felting projects. We are doing art pieces. Abstracts. Still lifes. And landscapes. Tool is easy to use and very effective for locking the fibers together on a craft felt background. We use thick high density foam mats rather than a brush to work on. We use single needles for details and edges.
