Product Description

The unique design of the JW pet company smarttemp thermometer combines a thermometer with a magnet. The smart temp thermometer goes on the inside of the tank and the magnet goes on the outside to hold the smarttemp firmly in place, no suction cups needed. The smarttemp also offers a green safe zone which indicates the optimal temperature range. A high-end accuracy- (+/-) 1.5-degree f and the smartt emp has la rge easy to read numbers.

The worst part was if they weren't inaccurate when I first started using them, they would eventually become inaccurate.Eventually, I transitioned over to these and haven't regretted it at all. They don't use suction cups so I don't have to worry about them falling off the tank, and since there are no electronics to it, I'm less worried about inaccuracies. They're also not too big so it's not really an eyesore.

    Ordered the two pack. Noticed right away one of them was off. Let them come up to ambient temp and sure enough, one matched my room thermometer and the other was 4 degrees below. I really like the magnetic attachment feature but if it doesn't read the right temperature it's useless. I had to call Amazon to get a refund on the defective one, which was frustrating. I will say the one I have previously has lasted forever, so if you get a good one they are really great.

    I love this thermometer! It's a bit big for my 2.5 gal tank, but that's alright. It reads temperature well and accurately and I prefer this kind over the digital. It stays on really well with the magnet. Sometimes it tilts sidewise if you bump it while doing maintenance, but it's easily fixed and stays straight as long as you leave it alone. Maybe if you had some aggressive fish they would mess with it more.

    The magnet works well enough, but the reading is inaccurate by 4 degrees. I compared it against 3 other known-accurate thermometers, and this one reads exactly 4 degrees cooler than all others. Tried to initiate a return through Amazon and the "how can we make it right" part of the return only gives the option to "troubleshoot on your own." So now I'm stuck with an inaccurate hunk of plastic that can't be returned.
