This is the greatest thing! I gave it to my 3 year old niece as a present and she adores it! The material is good quality and feels almost canvas-y. The water pen is durable, although would break if an adult stepped on it, and does take some muscle to get working at first. One the water works its way into the marker tip, it works great without leaking. The alphabet and objects border the coloring surface which is great for practicing identifying objects. It's a great product to avoid the mess of crayons and markers while still colorful and creative.

I bought this for my 15 month old daughter and she LOVES it. She's been using it for a month. You just fill the pen with water--it doesn't leak. The colors are vibrant when drawing on it and it dries very quickly. It might last 5 minutes before it starts to fade which is perfect so when you finish drawing on one part the next part is dry again. The "travel" one that comes with it is useless. It's a piece of paper basically and my daughter had it crunched into a ball like trash in 5 minutes. I wish a travel size of the normal mat was included. I love this purchase! I would recommend this for any parent. No mess! No drawing on the walls and no wasted paper.

Any water will work on it so you don’t necessarily have to use the pen it comes with. I let my kids use paint brushes. My two year old really likes it. I ordered the AquaDoodle - Draw N Doodle - Classic Mat for my nieces (20 month) because they LOVE to color, draw and doodle. Every time they would find a pen or crayon, they would just doodle all over the place (yes, even on their clothes, couches and walls). After getting lectured by their mothers on not giving them pens (which I did in order to be the cool aunt), I started searching for a magical way of having them continue with their doodling imagination without the hassle of the cleanup and the lectures. I came across the AquaDoodle mat and was a little spectacle about it. It sounded too good to be true. A mat that uses a marker that's filled with water. I figured I would give it a try and see for myself.

Well guess what? It works!! Not only does it have great colors when drawing on the mat, but it dries fairly fast so you can just keep doodling nonstop (yes, like the energizer bunny!). It may be because we are in Los Angeles and the weather is hot (104 degrees in October) which is expediting the dryness. Overall, the product is great! We hung it up on the wall, which made it easier for them to stand and draw. Anytime they would draw off the mat, it didn't matter because it was just a little bit of water that ended up drying super fast without leaving any stains.

Although the little rascals I purchased this product for are under the recommended age, they are smart cookies and absolutely enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this product for anybody looking for a hassle free way of keeping a kid's imagination and doodling going.
