So, if you're an oldtime Wrebbit Puzz-3D lover, but are getting confused between the Wrebbit 3D and Puzz-3D puzzles from Winning Solutions, here's the story as I understand it. The original Puzz-3D foam puzzles were created by a company in Montreal called Wrebbit. They created a lot of puzzles throughout the '90s, and were eventually purchased by Hasbro in 2005. Hasbro took over the manufacturing and moved it to the US, and then in 2006, they discontinued the line. In 2011, the Hasbro line was brought back into production from Winning Solutions, and they've been reprinting the older designs ever since.However. Back in Montreal, all the old employees and original Puzz 3D designers reformed the Wrebbit company in 2012, and these new Wrebbit 3D puzzles are theirs. Their emphasis is on larger and more complex puzzles, so if these might be too challenging for you, the older classic designs from Winning Solutions may be more your thing. :)I'm typically happier with 3D puzzles with a 500-700 piece count, as I prefer a puzzle I can put together and take apart in a single sitting. And when I opened the box on the Taj Mahal, I wasn't sure I was up to putting it together, as this is a significantly larger Wrebbit than I've put together solo before. But the old familiar initiation rite of pulling out all the red-dot printed pieces soothed me. For those wondering what the complaints are all about--Wrebbit doesn't separate out all the "waste" pieces from the cutting, as this would add significantly to the production costs (and these aren't cheap puzzles to begin with). So, you do have to pull some of the spaces out from between the "dovetail" edge teeth, punch out a few of the smaller holes (I missed quite a few the first pass through for the interior cardboard support tabs) and clear away the waste pieces that didn't separate. When I was done, I'd pretty much filled up an entire 1 gal. ziploc baggie with "waste" pieces, and if you aren't meticulous about this, you can accidentally toss a real piece in with the waste ones. It took me roughly an hour, but as I said, I'm an old hand at this, and I find it soothing, like knitting; and the idea that it's a initial-use-only deal makes it easier for me to get through. YMMV. Wildly.Putting the puzzle together is generally in two stages: you put together the model pieces (borders are typically delineated by square-wave notches for dovetailing edges together or straight lines or curves with no breaks in them). And then you take all the "model" pieces and create the 3D structure. Wrebbit does supply a printed "plan" for assembly, which will actually show each individual puzzle piece's position within the "model" pieces, as well as how the model pieces are meant to assemble together. One of the possibly more frustrating or helpful features of these Wrebbit puzzles is that they are engineered to only be assembled in one way. Despite seemingly symmetric features, the size of tabs and holes will be geared so that assemblies can only be oriented or slot together a single way. If a fit seems to be "off", you're probably trying to put the wrong pieces together and need to substitute a similar piece or rotate something. I find the printed plan to be a good "cheat sheet" to keep from getting too frustrated--the four corner towers in particular could have taken me a lot longer, if I hadn't just laid out all the pieces as they were on the plan, and then assembled them that way. Those damn towers were actually what took me the most time on the puzzle and were the last thing to go in. The central dome, palace, and courtyard bits were the easy part. :) You do have to be detail-oriented when looking at fit--the printed pattern will always match exactly. The foam edges can be forced into false fits very easily, but it's usually pretty self-evident when you've gotten it wrong. The dome did stymie me a little at first, as I'm used to assembling "model" pieces flat. These pieces actually only cleanly lock together when the surface curves appropriately. Once I realized how the pieces were supposed to curve, it was relatively easy to get everything to be in the right shape, but I fold origami, too, so this kind of "sculpting" of flat surfaces into 3d shapes isn't particularly tough for me.My only real complaint about the puzzle is that there are some unavoidable points of fragility on it. The small pointy turret pieces on the main palace are particularly fragile--held into place by very small jigsaw piece joins, and the inner cardboard supports are relatively thin and will probably need to be stored with care in the box for future reassembly. I'd have preferred tougher plastic pieces, but can see that would increase the cost appreciably. All told, it probably took me about a dozen hours to put this puzzle together by myself, and the frustration level was bearable :). I only gave it 4 out of 5, because I was still frustrated enough to put it away at times, and because I needed to leave room for that fifth star if Wrebbit ever recreates (or Winning Designs reprints) my favorite of the old Puzz-3Ds: the double-sided Sistine Chapel, where you could take the roof off and look at the ceiling. :D Still. Very very nice to have Wrebbit back and making new puzzles.

It was not crazy-difficult; it took just the right amount of mental concentration and finger dexterity. For me, it was a pleasant project across 2 weeks in February (39 hours total). If you have not worked on a Wrebbit 3D puzzle before, get Notre Dame first; Neuschwanstein overall was a bit more complicated, yet very satisfying to complete it.

Products like this have kept me in the good graces of my Anglophile wife for 30 years. She was so happy with the detail and overall look of the finished puzzle that she immediately added it to her collection of all things British. She is living proof that even ungrateful colonials appreciate where they came from.

I liked that it's a puzzle that I can set up on a shelf if I want to. It is a little challenging but in a good way. The puzzle pieces fit snug together and don't fall apart and they are the thick sponge kind. The only thing I don't like is that I can't see the other side of the what the puzzle looks like on the box, and that's what helps me know what I'm looking for. But overall I'm very happy with this purchase. It's going to be a lot of fun.

Pretty much the most difficult puzzle I have ever done! Got into 3D puzzles, and was doing the little ones that only took a few hours. This one took much longer. But having gotten through it and now having it as a display piece, I can offer tips to make it easier. Sort, sort, sort.
    1. Get all "scrap" pieces out. Go through "scrap" pieces again as 1 or 2 was probably missed.
    2. Get approx. 10-15 bags and start separating pieces (greenery, crown molding, red brick, yellow brick, cobblestones). I sorted all the grey ones, then went through and sorted them again to more specific types. This will take some time.
    3. Once sorted you can start piecing things together! Work one bag at a time. Use the map to figure out what shapes go where. The puzzle "clue map" has the individual shapes of what each "wall" looks like along with how the pieces are shaped exactly. I does not, however, show you what graphics are on each piece. I had to go from looking at the box pictures to the instructions back and forth to figure some things out. Bring a colored pencil with you when doing this so you can color in what you have put together BIG HELP! HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING THIS.
4 Once you have put every thing together (pieces will all still be flat) LAY ON GROUND AS LAYOUT APPEARS IN ILLUSTRATIONS. Then simply follow directions of how to put together, laying them out on ground makes the directions easier to follow.
    5. This puzzle gives you enough direction to get through, but you will need to possess critical thinking skills to "fill in the blanks".
Was a good challenge, some times throughout it I thought it might have been a larger project than I can handle, but 2 weeks later (as I gave up several times for a day or two) it was finished and felt very accomplished. :)

I held off on buying this one for the longest time because I thought the curved roofs would give me a hard time. Much to my surprise they were a breeze! Still challenging but not frustrating like I had been anticipating. The finished puzzle is quite nice, holds together well and has an elegant look to it. I agree with another reviewer who spoke in favor of the company using foam supports on the inside as opposed to the older cardboard versions. I don't have issues with the inner supports slipping out of place with the foam. Makes the whole thing much stronger. Instructions were included and the box was pristine.

Could have sworn mine was missing a piece, I contacted the company online using the info on the instruction sheet and sent the box info in. Got a reply immediately and they shipped the missing piece out very quickly (took about a week to get to me since I live in the US and they are based in Canada). Then a few weeks after I found the original piece under my couch (likely thanks to my cat). Sorry about that, Wrebbit. But the customer service was great! :)

FYI for the newbies you will need to sort out the pieces with red dots or lines on them prior to assembly (trash pieces). DON'T TOSS THEM UNTIL YOU'RE COMPLETELY DONE. Just in case you mixed a normal piece in.

I purchased this to build with my sons. The first step for completing this puzzle is sorting through, and throwing away, pieces that don't need to be in there. My kids completely lost interest during this step. I included a picture of a pile of pieces needing to be tossed, right off the bat. That's not even all of them! It seems like a missed opportunity for the company to both hire an unskilled laborer in need of a job and send out a finished product to consumers. Once I was finally finished trashing pieces, I realized the directions for completing the puzzle were trash, as well. They are in black and white- not helpful AT ALL. I tried putting it together, without instructions, for a few days but there was no way I would be able to finish it that way. I had to find color instructions on the internet and print them (after I found a printer). The entire process was so frustrating, and my kids wanted nothing to do with it. It felt more like a chore, in the end, than a fun project. I gave this 3 stars still, because I'm sure there are people who would enjoy putting together a 3D puzzle without instructions. My brain just doesn't work that way.

This is my fifth 3D Wrebbit puzzle to work. It’s been a real challenge, but fun!
The box has no picture of two sides of the building, so its guess work!
I have all the walls put together, all pieces there
Now to construct and putting the roof on will take time
I do one every winter and will get another next year!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rounded tower is a challenge to assemble
Reviewed in Canada on July 16, 2023

I was ironically able to finish this puzzle within a couple days. It was much better looking than the older Camelot castle I had over fifteen years ago that eventually died and had missing pieces. So I came across Webbit 3D Puzzles. This is the first one I did.

The only challenge I came across was during the assembly of the large tower in the back corner of the castle. After assembly as it is one of the last sections to install the bottom of the tower I could not get straight and bulged out. This is because I could not get under neath the puzzle to help support the pressure when connecting the base of the tower. It made the puzzle look bulgy on the bottom of the tower but over all the castle is great for display.

I also did not install the cardboard flags or decorative pieces as looked well done. I am keeping this castle assembled on display.

Yes the instructions are black and white and cannot follow those. Used a laptop to view the color instructions from the webbit3d website. Would have been awesome to have color instruction booklet like lego does with their products.

And there are a lot of red dot pieces to dispose of as well that I do first before separating the pieces by color.

I then print off the few pages to show the flat sections in color when I do the puzzle so I can see what puzzle section I am working on which helps.

July 15 I opened box. Seperated the red dot pieces to discard. Sorted all the pieces by color and shape. Printed off the four pages of the color instruction booklet online to show what the pieces look like together in sections before assembly. Worked all day with companion and had all pieces together the same day.

July 16 first thing in morning hooked up my laptop, brought up the colored instruction booklet, and started to assemble. Few things noticed during assembly:

    - at the very start when doing the front middle rounded windows it would have been much better to use the square edges around each window instead of standard puzzle pieces. This is because when it curves around the puzzle pieces space out and was a bit tricky to get the windows around before the flat curved base gets installed.

    - when installing the decorative cardboard tower arms there was a step that calls for 8 of the smaller ones to be installed with the larger ones. I can only install 6 small ones. Not enough slits for them to clip into. I left them out but still looks good

    - instead of using a paperclip I use a very small flat blade end to slit the slots for where the decorations go. This is easier to do before assembling into 3D. I waited too late to punch those out at the start and had to be very delicate to puncture to prevent pieces from being pushed in.

    - when doing the 24 windows together there was some pieces that looked like they fit when didnt. I had two small pieces of the roof top triangles above the windows that didn't fit. My companion spent a few minutes and was able to shift the pieces around so all the pieces fit properly.

    - Lastly the top cardboard tower with cone just sits in the middle of the roof crossing. It falls off and would have been nice if could clip in somehow.

Over all I enjoyed this puzzle and found it much easier to assemble then the Camelot puzzle. This is the second one I finished and have five more coming!

Está muy bonito y se ve de calidad el material pero el problema es que muchas piezas llegan rotas de la parte que encaja con la siguiente pieza o algunas vienen pegadas
