The Size 8 needle will make 1/2" tall loops. The fine needle can be used with worsted weight, sock weight, baby weight, sport weight, tapestry and needlepoint yarns. Narrow strips of fabric can also be used (approx. 3/32" wide - known as the #3 cut).

These are the only punch needles i would recommend someone to buy. They are not cheaply made like those punch needles you buy in a craft store. Oxford punch needles are also easy to thread which is another huge plus!
Super great! Threads very easy with out any extra items. ( Things like the little wire's that come with other needles to thread them.) This Oxford needle is Simple, Sturdy, Good construction. Could not be happier!
I bought this per the recommendation of a friend, but found it was too small for what I needed. I will probably still use it for yarn, but I do need to purchase a larger size to accommodate my 1/4" strips of wool.
