I absolutely LOVE this flat iron! I have had it since November 2020, and I use it a lot. I don't have to use it every day as I have had to with other flat irons; this one works better to keep my hair straighter, longer. When I first got it, I experimented using it with my hair very wet, damp, and after blow drying. It works very well for whatever look I am trying to achieve. Using after blow drying gives me the straightest, silkiest look; using it on wet or damp hair allows me to keep a bit of a curl in my hair because I am unable to get it as straight as when I blow dry first. When my hair is damp or wet, I find that I am able to use the flat iron for curling my hair and having it stay, whereas trying to curl it on dry hair works but doesn't stay in as long (but that could just be my hair). My hair is somewhat thick, so I have to pin up the layers in the back and flat iron it in sections, otherwise it is difficult to get it all dry enough. It definitely does not dry to the point as it will with a blow dryer, but I find that as long as I go over it a few times, my hair will not curl up as it dries (but again, that could just be my hair).
This flat iron is bulky like the regular type, which is fine with me because I use it at home pretty much 100% of the time. I have taken it with me on a couple of overnight trips; just threw it in my bag. It's not portable in the sense that it is small or folds up, but it's fine for traveling if you're used to bringing a flat iron with you anyway (which I am).
This is a life saver as we head into humid weather because I cannot handle blow drying my hair in the summer, but I don't always like to wear it curly (frizzy). This flat iron control the frizzies very well, and spares me from a dripping sweat when I blow dry in humid weather. It's a great price and a great tool to have - I highly recommend it!
