I am hooked! Viva Naturals organic chia seeds are an easy way to ensure I get adequate protein. I follow a simple recipe (organic soymilk, local honey & chia) that makes several servings. I used small jars which I take to work & then add berries for extra nutrients.

When stored properly, the chia seeds remain fresh for several months. I really like that these are plant-based and vegan. The Omega-3's are an added bonus!

This two pound bag is a great deal. This next thing doesn't bother me because I keep my chia seeds in the refrigerator even though I use them every day. So there is a "zipper seal" to try to keep them fresh but I always use it when I'm done and then when I get them out of the refrigerator the next day it's always open. Yes, I'm doing it correctly! Yes, I know how to zip them correctly. No, they do not stay zipped or maybe just don't zip. Maybe it's just my bag. I won't know until I guy another bag which I will do. I got these to help me with weight loss and more so to help my constipation that I've been dealing with. I'm sorry if that's tmi but I'm sure some people understand my frustration. It's supposed to help within 3-4 hours or within the first day! Well, let's just say there hasn't been enough movement. BUT!!! I also have been dealing with flatulence! Holding it in, being very uncomfortable then feeling bloated all while at work trying to get things done. Occasionally passing gas because it slipped out and getting embarrassed. Well! My flatulence has gone down significantly! I only toot at night when trying to fall asleep. Don't ask me why. Once in a long while I'll toot during the day but for the most part I don't have flatulence anymore and I can only guess that it's the chia seeds doing it! So I'm going to continue eating these. To make sure they didn't add to my constipation, every day after I add them to my oatmeal, I put in a cup of water into my tupperware container and two Tablespoons of chia seeds, mix well then stick in fridge. They don't plump up as much as I thought they would but they do plump up. If you're eating 2 Tablespoons per day it's a very good idea to also drink a lot of water throughout the day.
