As a hobby beekeeper with only a few hives, this worked great for my needs. It seems durable enough to last me for many years. My honey frames are medyim size. It wobbled the heck out of my flimsy table when I cranked it so I just put it on the floor where I could more easily see inside and also put some of my weight on it to control the wobble. Even so, the wobble wouldn't be enough to tip it. It's important to note that the wobble isn't due to any defect in the extractor, just that my frames were apparently not similar enough weights to balance the centrifugal force. The extractor was still light enough for me to pick it up later, full of honey, and transfer it to the table for dispensing. I liked that there can be gallons of honey in the bottom and still not impede the spinning baskets. I had about 2 gallons of honey in there with a lot of extra headspace - I would guess that you could have around 5 gallons in there before it reached the bottom of the spinner baskets. Easy to assemble and clean.

Very high quality for the price. It works perfectly and its made of very good quality. NOTE, I used mine for about 5 occasions, and realized it was a bit too much to use and clean so I sold it as I only have 3 beehives and I'm a very hands-off treatment free beekeeper so I'm not in my hives much. I finally went foundation-less and the crush and strain method works much better for me on a small scale operations. If you have 10 or so hives and your in it for the honey, I 100 percent recommend this item, it works very well.

I just spun 10 frames of honey and I must say I’m really happy with this extractor. Until now I’ve always borrowed my friend’s extractor, a Mann Lake brand 3 frame one. That one was about the same size as this, if not smaller. The problem with that one is that the “baskets” as I’ll call them (the parts that hold the frames inside the extractor) were too low in the body of the machine so that as the thing filled up with honey, the frames would quickly get half submerged in honey and I ended up just stirring up honey and getting honey all over the frames. This product, however, has a lot of room between the bottom of the “baskets” that hold the frames and the bottom of the cylinder. That means you can spin a ton more frames before you even open the valve to drain the honey out.

This extractor comes almost completely assembled, so there isn’t much work to do before you get started. All you really have to do is attach the handle that spins it - which is nice and sturdy metal - and the spigot, which is plastic with a little wingnut that is meant to tighten the spigot cover to hold the honey in as you spin it. Getting the spigot attached to the bottom wall of the cylinder was pretty uncomfortable for me and I have pretty long arms. If you can, get someone to help you and even with help you will probably have to disassemble some of the insides of the extractor in order to reach the hole that the spigot threads into.

This is only the second honey extractor I’ve ever used, but it’s definitely superior to the other one my friend has. I recommend it for people that have one or two hives and plenty of time to devote to spinning frames. It’s a good extractor for the price.

This is a great value. I'm sure more expensive extractors have some fancier features but for your average backyard beekeeper like me, I think this was a great investment. It took a while to arrive but it came across the country in a big box to me which was understandable. The final assembly (putting the handle on) is self-explanatory. It was easy to clean and I didn't notice any sharp edges. It came with a protective film on it to protect the stainless steel finish which took a few minutes to get off, but was worth it. All in all, this product was by far the easiest part of getting honey out of the hive and I'm happy I own my own, so I don't have to work on anyone else's timeline. The bees themselves make short work of cleaning it up and returning every bit of honey to the hive. I highly recommend this for the price.

I'm very pleased with this extractor. It arrived very quickly and in great shape. The tank had a protective film over it to protect the stainless steel. When removed, it was perfect. It was easy to assemble (took about 5 minutes). I extracted my honey with no problems, cleaned it with soap and hot water in the kitchen sink and put it away for next year. The price was great! Perfect for someone with a hive or two.
