Always have great success with Great Northern popcorn in my Whirley Pop popper. Usually get in bags so this new jug is a plus. Great that it is Non-GMO to avoid those side effects. Hardly ever have but 6 to one dozen unpopped kernels. Nice large popped kernels that have a good chew. I use the coconut popcorn that looks orange to be found at Amazon by various sellers like: Snappy Popcorn Colored Coconut Oil, 1 Gallon usually less than 25, and lasts quite awhile. Coconut is the best oil for popcorn as it is the only oil that is metabolized in the mouth by the linguinal lipase under the tongue and therefore is not an oil that the body will store...as all other oils are stored for future use and therefore fattening. Coconut oil is also great for face or skin. Has antibiotic properties on skin due to reaction on skin.
Well, back to popcorn... I add sea salt to 3 tablespoons coconut oil in popper with seeds (sized to your popper). Then once in big bowl, sprinkle on Garlic Powder, or Zesty Lemon by Weber, or onion powder, or cayenne pepper with chili powder, or use your imagination.
I made a sweet popcorn once by using melted white chocolate chips that was drizzled over hot popcorn and stirred while stirring around, then tossed in sliced almonds to stick to melted chips coating. Left over popcorn goes in the oven in my metal bowl to wait for next day and still tastes good. Using the Snappy Coconut Popcorn (which is hard below 76 degrees F) very much imitates the movie theater type of popcorn. Side benefit is that popcorn is that it is great fiber for body.
