I’m very happy with this popcorn popper bowl. However, the instructions did not say the amount of kernels to place in the bowl and for how long. Googling it, I discovered I should use half a cup of kernels and microwave it for four minutes. Well… Turns out half a cup is too much. The popcorn overflowed it popped the lid off.
On the positive side, it popped almost every single colonel! Only 15 kernels out of the half cup of popcorn kernels were left on popped! Impressive! The product is well-made and I’m happy with it. I just wish the instructions included home much to put in and for how long.
Next, I will try 1/3 cup of kernels and microwave it for three minutes 45 seconds.
UPDATE: I looked at the pamphlet which had recipes. In the recipes I discovered "directions".
Use 1/3 cup of kernels and microwave for 4 minutes. However with my microwave 3 1/2 minutes was enough. Only 5 kernels remained unpopped. EXCELLENT! Great product, well made, easy to clean and store.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this product. The biggest competitive advantage is the white plastic rim handle, which doesn't get hot. All the other brands don't have this and everyone was saying they burned their hands grabbing the silicone. I took someone else's advice and put the bowl to the edge of the microwave plate, rather in the center of the microwave. I don't know how much it helps, but the popcorn popped evenly. I'm also trying to figure out the best timing, like everyone else. I set the microwave to 3:30 and once the kernels started to pop, I closely listened and watched, to make sure they didn't burn. After 2:45 I could hear the popping was slowing down. As it was reaching 3:00 they nearly stopped and I started to smell a faint burning. I immediately opened the microwave and the burning smell was a little stronger but not terrible. Taking a look through the popped corn, some of them were burned in the middle. It was the hard yellow skin that was burned black. Had I let it go beyond that point even for a few seconds I probably would've ended up with a mass of black popcorn. As other people have pointed out, don't walk away when you use this. Listen carefully and keep your nose on high alert, and you'll have some quick and easy popcorn.
