When I first started, I used a small bite or sip of fruit or juice to reduce that oily feel in my mouth. Now, I take it straight. This oil has a light/clear taste and finished with a bit of a peppery note - something all good olive oils have in common. It's a thousand times better than the fake (cheaper) olive oils that line the supermarket shelves, and makes a wonderful gift for anyone who likes to cook. Besides drizzling it right from the tin, I had spices and herbs to add to its flavor so we can dip bread pieces into it. YUM!

Taste is heavier compared to other oil oils (California Ranch and Kirkland). Hard to tell if it is better health-wise, as I don't have a lab or expertise. But I do have a sense of taste. It probably excels where you want a stronger taste, or are used to a stronger taste. My opinion, YMMV.
