After years of use our trusty old Sunbeam iron finally gave up the ghost so we replaced it with with this model, thinking the Sunbeam name meant we’d love it too. From the beginning it would build up a crust of melted fabric right in the center of the iron. I chalked it up to my wife using it on too hot a setting and just decided to live with it. I would take a green scrub pad to it and spend 20 minutes cleaning it up about once a month. Then I noticed it building up melted fabric when I used it, and I know for a fact I wasn’t using too high a setting. Apparently the heating element is contained in only that central part of the iron. After 11 months we’ve both grown so tired of it that I’m ready to throw it in the middle of the street. Bye bye Sunbeam, never again.
