All too often - beginners will do themselves a disservice by choosing a cheap instrument that is just poorly made and difficult to play. Pyle’s new line of solid wood ukuleles are high quality musical instruments that are built to play and built to last.
Each instrument’s sound demonstrates the unique character of the solid wood it is constructed from. Each different wood produces excellent acoustics as the string’s vibrations resonate within the body and amplify through the sound hole.
The instrument’s design is inspired by both a modern and traditional design reflected in the guitar style headstock and the carved sun logo and sound hole.

As far as packaging, it was done perfectly. The ukulele was wrapped in a sheet of protective foam that prevented any scratching or other damage from any loose particles that may have been in the box.
The ukulele itself was in perfect condition out of the box. (Note: this may be a miniscule - likely even unimportant to some - feat, but the box has a top and a bottom instead of opening from the side, which the box that my other uke came in opened from the side, and I greatly appreciate that because it's easier to open and makes it less likely that I'll damage the product.) There were no scratches anywhere (including the tuning machines), nor were there any broken/loose strings or anything of that nature. All parts attached to the ukulele (nut, frets, saddle, bridge) are attached VERY well, and blend perfectly with the color scheme.
It is simply beautiful. The shiny two-toned wood gives the ukulele a very professional look, one that is appropriate in any setting(s). The "Pyle" logo is insanely beautiful, and adds a really nice 'pop' to the uke. To the touch, the wood is very smooth and even. There's no splitting, discoloration or anything of concern. It is extremely comfortable to hold, and the weight is appropriate.
The sound is simply wonderful! It takes me straight to a beach in Hawaii! It is very easy to tune. No matter if you're a beginner (which I am) or a savant, this ukulele is worth a try.
This thing is sturdy and seems to be able to take quite a bit of handling and playing (which is, of course, very important in an instrument) and I believe that one can (and will) get years and years of use out of it.
Lastly, the price is very reasonable, and very well worth it. There IS a warranty (yay)! There is a card enclosed in the box that tells you how to register the uke to receive a FREE 1 year warranty.
All in all, I am beyond pleased with the Pyle solid wood spruce ukulele! I can't explain how impatient I was waiting for it to be delivered in the mail, and I DEFINITELY can't explain how excited I was when it arrived!

The few corrections I had made were not that bad. I do this stuff all the time.
First off, the fretboard was very chalky and dry looking. I cleaned it up and treated it with my secret recipe tung oil/polymer. Now, the walnut is very rich and luxurious looking. Side markers would be nice for beginners.
The frets had rough edges. I sanded the edges and did a little filing with a luthier's file.
The screws on the tuning machine buttons were a little rough. I polished the chewed up slots.
The fretboard had a scuff by the soundhole. I sanded it a bit. Can't tell there was an issue.
These things to me, were all minor, as I make adjustments on just about every ukulele I buy, whether cheap or expensive. It's just the nature of the beast, so to speak. I spent about 1/2 hour making corrections. No big deal.
Looking at the edge of the soundhole, it is obviously NOT a solid spruce top. It's a laminate. I assume the back and sides are also laminated but they definitely have an open pore look which is very attractive.
With the few minor issues corrected, I'm very happy with it.
Overall, it is if sound construction.
It sounds pretty nice, although I would recommend strings that are a tad more mellow.
The sustain is very good.
The spruce/walnut combo looks very classic, especially with the banjo style headstock. The binding and purfling are perfect. The satin finish is very nice with no flaws. Their new laser cut logo is very attractive.
With this particular one I had to buy a gig bag separately. Also no accessories came with it.
It is available elsewhere as a starter kit. More money of course.
It's just bare bones in a cardboard box.
It was obviously sent out prior to my receiving it as the box had residue on it from another shipping label.
For what I paid for it, I have no real complaints.
I would definitely buy one again.
The first thing you’ll notice about this exceptional ukulele is it’s finish. The beautiful light colored front contrasted with the deep brown of the body and neck creates an explosive look that is simply stunning.
As many recommend, I tuned the ukulele and allowed the strings to “settle” in for a couple of days before final tuning and finally playing. I was beyond impressed with the tone and intonation of this well made ukulele. I am very pleased with the quality construction and with the attention to detail. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this Pyle ukulele iver any other brand I’ve tried. You won’t be disappointed.
