The popcorn was reasonably priced and the order shipped quickly. My recipe is healthy and yummy: place 1/3 cup of Riehle's kernels in microwave popcorn maker. Use the popcorn setting on the microwave. After popped I add 1 Tablespoon avocado oil; 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon sugar. Mix it all together and enjoy! It tastes like kettle corn.

They are pretty and multi colored but I will stick with Bob's Red Mill or even Snappy white, which is a great value also. Truth be told, Bob's Red Mill and Snappy white are hard to tell apart! I LOVE popcorn, but not this stuff.

If you don't know this is not regular popcorn and doesn't pop the same. 1. these are smaller kernels. to reduce the amount of hulls the kernels are small and burst more hull into smaller pieces. 2. There is no completely "HULL FREE" popcorn. 3. the popcorn is smaller. small kernels=small popcorn. 4. Not all the popcorn will pop. Just like regular popcorn not all the kernels will pop. They are smaller, dry faster, and the dryer they get, the less they'll pop. If you are using an air popper, they fly around a lot more instead of bunching up in the bottom and may pop irregularly because your popper was not designed for this corn. Otherwise, it's decent popcorn. there's a learning curve because it's not the same thing as normal popcorn. You won't get perfect popcorn anywhere.

As I have gotten older, I find it more difficult to eat popcorn. I had high hopes that this would be tender without the hulls. As others have stated, I don't know if it is stale? It just had no flavor to it, in fact it tasted bitter and seems very small and tough. Much of it did not even pop! I tried it in a pan on the stove and I tried my hot air popper. Awful. I kept checking the label to see if I had gotten the wrong kind. I cannot recommend this. If I just got a bad batch, I would hope the manufacturer would make it right. If by some miracle that happens, I will come back and write another review. It is pretty horrible, and I just threw it out.

This is the best popcorn on amazon, for you gourmet (small kernel) popcorn enthusiast follow these general directions for perfect results. this corn does not pop like the larger kernel "theater style" variety but its taste is far superior. BTW I have been popping Gourmet corn since the late 70's with great results.

Just a quick how-to follow up for best popping results with ALL small kernel gourmet popcorn (like this product) use a "Stir Crazy" popcorn popper or equivalent, pour a 50/50 mix of vegetable oil and coconut oil in the popper and plug it in, let the oil heat preheat for at least 1.5 min pour in the popcorn, gently swirl the entire popper unit on your counter top while it stirs and pops! PERFECTO popcorn! and usually 95+% of the kernels will pop to full plump size. season with your favorite salt pepper or seasoning salts mix and don't forget to try Ranch powder.
For an amazing sweet option follow the above recipe and use only coconut oil and about 50% more oil than typical, when the popcorn starts to pop toss in a 1/4-1/3 cup of regular sugar and swirl the popper aggressively to keep it from scorching and the popcorn will slowly pop and your reward is a perfectly popped batch of kettle corn like treat.
