I purchased the "833-black Night Version Lens" so the review is only for this model but commonalities may apply to other models as well.

These are extremely lightweight because they're 100% plastic. The rubber Nose Pads are not hinged but the combination of soft rubber, light weight, and overall flexibility make them comfortable to wear.

All Plastic means very flexible so will bounce back from bending & stress but plastic has a breaking point so be careful about accidentally sitting on them. The Arm Hinges are tensioned plastic-to-plastic so will be subject to wear over time.

The Yellow Night Vision lenses filtered 98% of a 365-385nm Ultraviolet light source. Basic Lux tests showed they appear to pass close to the rated 87% Light Transmission. A monitor test showed they are vertically polarized.

I use them for eye protection when cycling at dusk/night and they help with glare from oncoming lights/headlights. When it's very dark with little visible background light they will not be effective.

As reported by other users, the included retention strap can slide off the temple arms with use. I put a small Ty-Wrap at the end of the arm to stop it from accidentally slipping off but still allows the strap to be manually removed if desired. See attached picture.

The lenses are coated soft plastic so get dirty easily and can scratch. Use the soft cloth to clean and store them in the case to proactively prevent scratches and damage.

I’m in my 30s but been a runner for almost 2 decades, and have very high expectations for my running gear. My Native Eyewear Sprint sunglasses gave up the ghost after almost 7 years, so I looked around to find a less expensive replacement and landed on these.

For the price, I didn’t expect much but was pleasantly surprised!

Pros:
- They ARE actually polarized, which I was suspicious might not be the case at this price point.
- Very lightweight
- Lenses (only*) provide excellent visibility for very sunny conditions
- Kind of cool looking with the mirrored lenses (I ordered the pink + black version)
- The hard shell case, cleaning cloth, AND holder are a nice extra- none of the more expensive brands include a hard case for free.

Cons:
- I don’t find the height to be adequate enough to keep the early afternoon sun from glaring in through the top of the frame (hence the caveat about the lenses working well)
- I wear a sun visor as well and the glasses need to be readjusted fairly often during a 30 min run due to pushing up from the visor wrap (this did not happen with my slimmer-armed Native glasses)

Overall, I’m happy with my purchase.

didn't expect too much from these sunglasses which I have been wearing during my bike rides. I have to say they are fantastic!! love the pink color, lenses are amazing, super lightweight and wind protectant. I highly recommend! I purchased the Rivbos sports sunglasses, to replace a pair of Maui Jim’s that I scratched the lenses on. My Rivbos that I Purchased have the rainbow lens. The lenses do look funky when you wear them, which is pretty cool!

My use of these lenses is sports/hiking. I recommend the Rivbos 801’s with the vent slots for running.

My new Rivbos fit snug and feel solid. The Rainbow lenses take a moment to get used to, not having owned the color in the past. Nothing negative, red is still red, green is still green. Hard to explain, but things look good!

My kids thought they looked cool too, which I take as a good thing!

As mentioned above, these are replacing a pair of Maui Jim’s I damaged. I could spend another $300 on Maui’s, or buy a pair of Rivbos (or 15). The other positive of Rivbos is the customer service. It costs $75 for Maui repairs, and you have free lifetime support on Rivbos. I can attest to the fact that I contacted Rivbos support via Facebook, and they sent me a replacement pair in the past. No questions!

I certainly recommend these glasses. They give great value for the dollar. They are stylish. The frame feels solid (and snug). The lenses have varying color choices and look cool. They come with a solid case, and cleaning cloth. And finally, they do what they are supposed to do. You can see clearly without distortion, while minimizing the glare of the sun.

Over the course of 4 years I have purchased 4 pairs of the exact style. Out of the 4, I can say the first 2 pairs were perfect, no complaints. I cannot say that about the last 2 pairs that I received. I purchased a pair August 2023 and one of lens began to warp and develop a bubble. This would cause the lens to fall out. The black paint also began peeling off and end up stuck to my face. At this point, 2 perfect pair out 3 isn't bad. January 2024, my wife orders another pair. Shipping took less than a day, fantastic. Unfortunately they do not fit. They are deformed beyond a tolerable amount. They sit sideways and tilted on my face. These are a waste of money. I won't be gambling my money on another pair at this point. Disappointed...
