This worked perfect. An electrical serge killed my nintendo dock, so I bought one from best buy, it stopped working too. This thing works great. 4 stars because you need something to hold your switch upright so the heat escapes upwards. I dont recommend laying your switch flat while its "docked" anytime you play the switch, the exhaust fan is facing upward, heat rises.Also, the mini dock itself gets pretty hot. I have mine setup on a laptop cooler so air is constantly being pushed through and up through both units so no overheating will happen.

I had this for a year. One day it stopped allowing full control via HDMI connection, on multiple TVs. I contacted the seller and they promptly provided a new device. I tested it with the same issues. I tried replugging the adapter connections in order, with the HDMI plugged into both a HDMI switch and the main port on the TV, power cycling the Switch and TV using the power button on the Switch instead of sleep function, and updating the Switch. The display worked, but the controllers had stopped functioning, while they worked fine on the main factory dock so I thought maybe it was due to a Nintendo update. But after resyncing and pairing the controllers again, and some internet help, I found the user error! *The controllers are fully disabled when they are attached to the Switch while docked.* So the controllers weren't recognized when attached to the Switch console while the adapter was plugged into the console as the dock, but they were recognized and working as normal when they were disconnected from the Switch console. What a simple mistake and fix! I'm really pleased it is such a great product and travel companion, and the seller service and warranty are hard to beat. This gadget is definitely worth it!

Almost everything about this hub is covered in other reviews, so I figured I'd add just the two details that I didn't see in my quick glance-through.

1) It does *not* do HDMI CEC. This is the feature called "Match TV Power State" on the Switch, where turning on the Switch will turn on the TV (and switch inputs for you), and turning off the TV will turn off the Switch. This isn't a deal-breaker for me, as I'm only using this at other people's houses, where I'm plugging this into their TV, and can power it on and switch inputs manually while I do. However, if you're intending to use this to replace your first party dock, be aware that that feature will not work.

2) It, rather astonishingly, does support USB OTG, even on my Pixel 3. I was hoping to get some sort of HDMI video out from the Pixel 3 (the phone doesn't support it), but surprisingly, this hub also works as a USB OTG adapter. This means that you *can* plug a mouse, keyboard, thumb drive, anything you like into the USB ports on this hub, and those devices will work just fine with your phone, even if the HDMI doesn't. This is really handy, as it means I now have a USB 3.0 port for my phone too!

Update. So I dont know what happened but I tried this again and it looked a lot better. Im adding the 3 stars back as it works as advertised and am really happy with the purchase.

I bought this device to hook my switch up to TV's around my house. My first tv is a 4k Hisense tv. It is absolutely beautiful picture. Hooking my Switch up with this device was pretty easy and connected easy.

the quality of the picture was pretty poor. I wasn't expecting 4k but I thought a up-sampled 1080 would have been great or just 1080. But what it looks like is not near that. I play my ps4 at 720 that looks better than this. Granted the PS4 has far superior graphics, This picture is just bad.

Wondering if it could have been the TV or wire, I tried connecting it to my Samsung Qled which didn't even recognize it with 2 different HDMI cables which work for every other device I use.

I'd return it but I threw away the box.

I know some reported that they bought this product several years ago and mentioned it doesn't work well with the new Switch OLED. I purchased this January 2022 and can confirm that this does work as intended on the OLED Switch. There must have been a revision of this product within the last few months. So far everything works and the picture quality is at least equal to using the official dock. Build quality feels solid as well. The only drawback of this product is you'll need to wash your eyes after seeing the included art inside the box (you'll know what I mean)
