I purchased this as my first uke and have been playing it 4-6 times a week for a month now, usually for about an hour at a time. I'm an adult who has tried (and failed) to learn to play several instruments. I wanted an instrument that sounded fine but wouldn't be a horrible waste if I once again failed to be able to learn it.For the first time ever I am taking well to an instrument and enjoying practicing. And this instrument is a great value! I've become very fond of it.This is a very basic, student grade instrument. It's made of inexpensive laminate wood and cheap vinyl strings. The paint job is shoddy. The fret board and neck are actually one piece of wood painted to look separate. (The frets are actually metal.) The bridge is plastic.HOWEVER, it's surprisingly functional. After the first week of play (once the strings stretch and are broken in) it stays in tune really well. It has a very slippery finish, so I added some grippy stuff to the back of the body and neck to help me learn to hold it correctly. Problem solved very easily. One of the tuning pegs was poorly milled and "crunched" some when first tuning, but has smoothed out now. I would definitely not classify this as a "toy" ukelele, as some reviewers have suggested. (Although it would make a great gift for a kid 5-12 years old. I'm a teacher at an elementary school and this is a similar uke to the ones my students learn on.) The sound is surprisingly nice. The action is good. The resonance is perfectly fine. It's a good beginning instrument and perfect for someone like me. I wouldn't be embarrassed to play this in front of friends. I feel confident that I'm not being held back by the fact that I didn't invest in a more professional uke yet.At first I thought it didn't come with the picks and spare strings, but they were just hidden in an inconspicuous zipper section on the front of the gig bag. The bag, by the way, is not padded. Just a basic gig bag. But the zipper is smooth and the strap is fine.Again, this is baseline, entry level gear. It's perfect for someone who would like to try something new without making a huge investment. I will absolutely recommend this instrument to friends who would like a uke for a beginner.

This ukulele is a great value and great for beginners. My 5th grade daughter uses this daily for her school music classes and loves it!

Be aware that like with all ukuleles, the strings will stretch quite a bit when new and don’t hold their tuning long. Retuning was needed before each use for about the first month, but now it holds its tune quite well.

Great value for the money. Purchased for someone who wanted to learn how to play but has too much arthritis in their fingers to try to play so it had to be returned. Didn't realize that until she tried to use the ukulele.

Don't know a lot about ukeleles. My daughter wanted to learn to play and unfortunately this wasn't a great choice. Not sure if it was a manufacturing error or just badly made but the nut (the piece the strings run over to hold them up from the neck) was too thick so the strings sat so far up from the neck that it was almost impossible for my adult fingers to push down the strings within the first fret. My daughter couldn't press them at all. Luckily my very handy husband was able to fix it so she can play it, but it wasn't ideal. The sound is OK, although it does still need to be tuned every time we pull it out. I know some of that is normal as the strings settle, so just hoping at some point that will work itself out.

Poor quality. The neck had been painted over to cover some dings. The sound wasn't great either. The nut is raised higher than I've seen on a ukulele and made it nearly impossible for my daughter to press the strings down without hurting herself. We returned it and purchased an Hola! Ukulele and are very happy we didn't settle. If you're looking for a childrens toy they can bang around this will do the trick, but if you're wanting to play or learn I wouldn't suggest this.

Loved this gift for my daughter for Christmas. It is a beautiful little ukulele. I purchased this in hopes to save Christmas for my daughter. Due to a different order from another company not going to arrive until day after Christmas. It arrived with two days to spare! Thank you!!!
