A smart robot car on your phone

It wouldn’t be smart enough if you can’t control your robot car with your phone. Simply install the ElegooKit APP from APP Store and Google Play and team with the car through wifi, you can control your car freely. In our tutorial you will also learn how to programm and control it.

FPV Mode

Be your eyes

FPV control experience and using Wi-Fi for Video transmission and control the robot car’s movement. Imagine that your are driving the car. Please be noted that the horizontal control range is 0-180°, you cannot control the camera vertically.

Obstacle Avoidance

Fear of damage no more.

Under this mode the ELEGOO robot car will automatically detect obstacles ahead of it no matter which direction it is from with the ultrasonic sensors on the platform by sending waves and calculating the distance. Keep your car away from collision and enjoy the fun.

Line Tracking

Follow your runway

The line tracking modules at the bottom of the car make sure it follows the runway you design with its infrared transmitter tube and an infrared receiver tube. Make sure your runway is clear enough and long enough then you can enjoy a wonderful car racing show.

My seven year old was able to put this thing together, with some guided supervision. He loves it and loves putting down electrical tape on the floor and having the car follow that. And driving it from his iPad with the camera showing where he is going.I wish that the there was more clear instructions for coding / programming of the car as that has been a bit confusing for me to do with my kid.One thing I want to point out is a couple of weeks after building the car, my kid had a friend over to play with it. He was so excited that he stepped on it and broke the little bracket that holds the sensors on the top of the car. I reached out to Elegoo customer support and they sent a replacement of the bracket, free of charge, and we were on our way again to enjoy it! That speaks volumes, so just wanted to recognize their willingness to support me!

My granddaughter and I built this car yesterday. Aside from some gymnastics required to hold parts together while fastening with microscopic nuts (for which they thoughtfully provided spare pieces), it went together well, and quickly! I loved how each ziploc bag of parts was labeled, and the labels were referenced at each step (Hint: if you empty a bag to sort parts, put the unused parts back in the bag to make it easier to find them for use in a later step), and the illustrations included actual size pictures of the fasteners to help alleviate any confusion. Best instructions I’ve ever had with such purchases from Chinese companies! My granddaughter enjoyed putting it together, and was thrilled with it when we turned it on and let it go. We’ll experiment with changing the program to make the car do different things, and, maybe, adding some additional servos...

My one complaint is that the power switch on the battery pack does not work - as soon as we plugged it in, the board was powered and changing the switch position did nothing, so we control power by unplugging the battery box from the board. Had this not been the case, this would have been a 5-star review.

There were also some servo horns in the package with no mention in the manual, and no apparent application on the car. We’ll hold onto them for potential future additions to the car, but they did cause some confusion as my 12 yo granddaughter pored over the documentation looking for them.

The instructions are amazing, and through. And if you download the app before building it, the instructions are even better on the app. If you can put Legos together you can do this. Operates great out of the box. No programs to upload or flash. It just works with the remote and the app. Lots of fun with the kids. First upgrade will be lights. It is hard to see in FPV in a dark room. The line following circuit board gets caught on everything. I say if your not using it don't install it. Without it, it will climb mountains. I did notice some screws loose after hours of play. So I recommend getting some blue LockTite. Great Kit!

I like this and it worked immediately. It was not quite like what was in the ad on amazon but it was functionally the same and nothing earth shattering. Battery pack and charging was a little different but easy to use. The instructions are mostly diagrams so you will benefit from looking at the videos about it. They are really helpful...it can save you from reworking. My only real complaint was that it was hard to thread a couple of the smallest screws but I have large hands. I only could get three of the four in but that is all that is really needed anyway. I could have cross threaded it myself. The software was already loaded and so I turned it on and it started right up. I tested the IR control (have to be in line of sight for sure and aim clicker right at it) and I tested it working with iphone and android apps...no problems. It found the bluetooth connection and worked perfectly. I tested the collision avoidance and it worked very nicely. It can't detect really small objects but that is to be expected I think. I wish they had put the sensor back a little further as when you run the car it goes pretty fast and it can bump into something and move the sensor and, I would imagine, could knock it off it hit too hard. Just something to watch for. I think they did a very thorough job with this, the instructions are reading (i.e. not in "chinese" english), the parts fit right and were of good quality. Nice job for this price. I'm happy. PS might be a little much for kids under about 12 to build it but I'm on the other end of the age spectrum. Enjoy!

The base/top plates are sturdy, even though they are plastic. Instructions are clear enough to understand and assemble. The UNO comes pre-programmed. So once you assemble it, you can start using it like a toy. App control is seamless. All default functions work well. I haven't figured out yet how to customize the programming, for example, do various other computer vision tasks.
