Work great. Any instrument. Can't beat the price.
These little tuners work great for me. I've used it on guitar and mandolin so far. The first pic shows how they arrived. Four boxes shrink wrapped together. The open box shows the battery card, tuner, and instructions . I put a ruler there for size reference. They are a tad smaller than a snark. Same idea though. Press and hold the button on the front until it comes on ( 1 or 2 seconds) and start tuning. I didn't notice any delay. When I'm done with one string, I just hit the next and tune. The display is on two hinges which simulate a ball joint so you can still rotate it up and down and left to right. The clip opens wide, beyond parallel, but their small size means they're a little shallow front to back. I haven't had a problem yet but if your head stock was tapered like in pic three, you may have an issue. They are actually over detailed. When it comes on you can choose between C. G, B, V, & U. Chromatic, guitar, bass, violin and ukulele. This is all unnecessary. When it "hears" a G note it displays a G. When it hears a D it shows a D. The only thing the separate instrument settings do is tell you which string it is. G is the first string on a bass but the third on a guitar. That sort of thing. So I just turn it on and tune. I don't care which string it thinks it is. Like I said, I use it on a mandolin and technically that's not even one of the settings. You can't beat the price. It changes every now and then but under 20 for four tuners is great. It even dips below 15 on occasion. If you absolutely have to have a 50 dollar "pro" tuner, you're not even reading this. But if you want one in each case or leave one on the shelf and bring one to practice or whatever, these do the trick for me.

Every so often you buy one of these cheap bargain items you see on Amazon and it actually works out. These little guys are amazing. Well, I guess there's nothing special about them, but they work fine, are easy to read, and are exactly as accurate as the ubiquitous Snarks and Korgs, and are extremely well priced. I also like that they turn green when your string is in tune - unnecessary, but a nice touch.

CONS: Other reviewers mention they're a little slower, and yes they're a LITTLE slower, but this shouldn't discourage you unless you plan to tune on stage, where you want to spend the minimum amount of time tuning as possible. I'm not even sure I would have noticed if I hadn't read the reviews. They're also on a hinge, not a ball joint, which limits the direction you can swivel it. (Just an FYI in case this bothers you. This affects my personal usability exactly zero.)

I bought this because I'm so lazy I get annoyed when I have to keep moving my tuner to a different guitar. Now I have one on each guitar - problem solved! Also if you're a bit absent-minded and tend to lose tuners, you won't feel that bad at this price.

It's so nice to finally have workable tuners for each of my guitars. These act just a bit slower than my more expensive tuners so I have to hit a note and wait a second to strike the string again to ensure an accurate reading. Not a big deal at all. These clip on tight and seem reasonably sensitive and accurate. I really like how the face changes color when the string is in tune. They take the standard 2032 coin batteries that my other tuners use so having replacements on hand from Amazon is cheap and easy. And yes, they do come with new batteries you have to install. Quite nice really
Update: 4/20, After four months of use I removed one star. I found I do get frustrated at how slow reacting these tuners are. I'm still happy I bought them overall, but I wouldn't want to use them on the guitars that I play every day. Fine for those instruments I play occasionally. In that regard they are handy and save swapping tuners around all the time. If I only played one guitar, I wouldn't use or recommend these. Not quite good enough for one's main tuner or for a beginner. I think they may frustrate a new musician.

This is a good little tuner. As others have said, it’s a little slow, but we’re talking milliseconds; you’re not waiting seconds for it to catch up.

It might be just me, but I gave only four stars for “easy to read” because it took me a while to get it adjusted to where I could see it (Fender guitar) It swivels and all just as it says in the description, but because it’s so compact, I found it hit the head before it had swiveled all the way around to where I could see it. Small issue that I was able to work through, I wouldn’t base your decision on it.

Oh - and it needs batteries. I came back to look and see if I missed that tidbit on the page but still don’t see it. It takes CR-2032 so if you don’t have any of those lying around, grab some.

I read a lot of the reviews for these before deciding to buy. The price point was so good I decided to overlook the multiple reviews that mentioned how slow they were between notes. I'm so happy I did. I am actually super impressed with these. There is a tad of lag between notes but honestly for the average users I would be shocked if it were noticed. I probably wouldn't use them to gig but around the house they are perfect. I (like I'm sure a lot of people) have way to many guitars....so having multiple tuners is just more convenient.

I find they work perfectly whether acoustic or electric!

I've always used Snarks in the past but can't see me buying those again after stumbling across these!

Super buy and super value!
