2 stars because at least it works, this was bought new & was clearly returned and reboxed. It was taped with scotch tape, the stickers are on insanely wrong & all scrunched & the screw for the battery pack is missing which led to me having to tape it closed to keep them in. The guitar itself only plays different tempos or animal sounds which is fine since my 3 year old actually thinks she playing music ( the excitement she gets it hilarious). Not sure if it’s defective but even when I change the volume to the lowest setting it doesn’t stay. The guitar is super loud so I’d your ok with crazy noisy toys then this is the one for your little one

Here is the Cliff Notes of my review. You can read more if you want. I received an opened box product which means it was previously used and returned (yet, I still paid full price for it). The body of the guitar had dirty fingerprints on it. All of the keys on the neck of the guitar stick.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.

The Details....
I purchased this for my little one. It arrived quickly which was great.

I opened the Amazon shipping box, which was not safely shipped. A long single piece of tape was not able to keep the box closed. Inside a single sheet of brown paper was used to fill up the box's empty space...which it did not do. The experience didn't start off well, but it would be easily overlooked if the guitar worked.

For the price, I didn't have high expectations. And I figured it would probably work well for a few weeks before breaking. But this product could not even reach my low expectations.

Here is how our experience went...

When I got to the guitar's box, the tape had been cut. So it was an open box. I paid full price for used/returned product. Upon pulling the guitar out, we saw dirty finger on the body of the guitar and the buttons. Literally, dirty finger prints. If you are going to reuse a product, at least clean it.

We put batteries in it, because if it worked well, I would happily clean it myself and be done with it. The keys located on the neck of the guitar stick. Every single one of them...sticks. The sound quality is poor. The types of modes it offers really make no sense. You can't even just play the guitar. Every button plays a song or melody...it is really poorly designed.

RECOMMENDATION:
If you are looking for a musical instrument for your child, I would recommend buying a single rubber band and stretching so that the tension creates a musical note when you flick it over buying this product.

The guitar is nice and my kids love BUT there's no clear option for making the sound quiter. There's one button only for changing the volume. Button, not a scroll. So you basically don't know what level you're and what will happen next when you press the button - if the sound goes up or down. Another thing is that regulation is possible only when a kid is playing. So the music should sound in order the button to work. You can't make it quiet in advance. Otherwise it's a good toy.
